Parents & Tots

Parents & Tots provides a wonderful opportunity for parents to introduce their child to "school". Unlike playgroup settings, this program is based upon a preschool day and offers many opportunities for children to be exposed to the skills they will need as they go to preschool on their own. Their first chance to work as part of a group in circle time, craft time, story time and snack is fun and provides a learning experience for both the child and the parent (even "clean-up" time can be a time for fun).

Each week has a new theme and the activities are planned to expound upon that theme. A typical week begins with free-play, circle time and a craft project reflecting the current weeks theme. Then followed by snack, story time and an activity to enhance gross motor skills. Even though a 2 year old's attention span can be short, the experiences they have last a life time.

My four year old is about to graduate...  Letter from a Parent, Author Unknown

As the 2004 /2005 school year winds down, and my 4 year old about to graduate from DeKinder School, I found myself starting to panic!  What will my life will be like after DeKinder?   Then I realized what I needed to do…   I need to steal the staff!  I need to smuggle them and let them teach my child until the ripe old age of was 18!   Then I got a grip!
Our family’s experience at DeKinder was top notch!   It began with Parent & Tots, and is now ending with the four year old program.  Every year has been a milestone, creating memories to last a lifetime.   This past year has been more meaningful then ever!  The Tea Time with Mom and the Hero Lunch for Dad confirmed the dedication and love the school staff has for its students and families.

To all the “teachers”, thank you for all you have done. Although you will never become rich in the early childhood education field, please know you have made my child and my family’s life “rich” with memories.  Life is about change, letting go, and moving on. Nothing ever stays the same. With that said, if I could keep one thing the same it would be all of the wonderful staff that work at DeKinder School!!!!
